[SCCC] K6UA Amplifier

This is an exaggeration. The transformer was barely above a persons waist,
but it was more than adequate. Now, the rack with the whole power supply in
it was about six feet tall. Dale continued to use the same power supply,
rewired to produce 3KV output at as many amps as were needed, for his "legal
power" operations (with single 4-1000A's) around 1969-1972, but it was gone
from the shack and he was using Henry 2K types for multi-multi operations
circa 1990.
The "windows" in the story was a sliding glass door in the back of the shack
leading to the avocado orchard.

Hi Dennis,
My friend in Fallbrook, W6LKC (SK) told me the story of the build
of one of Dale's amps. Harry said he walked up to the pole-peg
transformer that was as tall as he was. That was the xfmr for
Dale's linear. They ram-setted it to the concrete slab and proceeded
to build the amp around it.
I have the tuner which Harry sold me. He said he designed it for
10+KW. Harry was a broadcast engineer....Great stuff!
Also the story about when the FCC showed up during a multi-multi
and everyone dove out the windows but Dale. There he sat with 5
ashtrays with lit cigarettes!!!
