Yes, K6JGZ just reminded me tha there are gas caps (and perhaps other components) unique to units sold in California that comply with CARB requirements.  I'm planning to call tomorrow to ask about that.

  The Mayberry site used to say their generators were not certified for 
  California (or some such language). AQMD, I presume. I heard from someone 
  that the only difference was the fuel cap.
