I will be not be available to help with a demo on May 7th at Adobe Bluffs
Elementary School in Poway on May 7th

I think an interesting Demo would be on how antennas work to transmit radio
waves as seen in this video

http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2010/02/seeing_radio_waves_with_a_light_bul.html

If anyone is available I have a 3 element 2 meter yagi that the Reflector
and Director can EASILY be removed
so all one would have to do is make up another 2 mtr dipole with a bulb in
center and bring a 2 mtr radio and power supply and some coax

Please let me know if you are interested in doing this short demo and pick
up
the portable 2 mtr Yagi I have ( easily lets elements be removed and added
)., please let me know

Below is a copy of original e-mail request that went out

> Subject: Help for a demonstration at a school science day?

> After talking to Dennis at the meeting last week, he suggested I send a
message to the board with the details of a request for help doing a demo.
The text of the request is attached.

> I was asked by Adobe Bluffs Elementary School if I could help with their
annual Science Day on May 7th by doing an amateur radio demonstration. I
recently did a demo for one class using the DStar digital system for the
kids to talk to an operator in Australia.

way that the club can assist? I don't think we need many people, nor do I
think we need a full trailer's worth of equipment.
