Nice try, Art!  and Tks for Q last night.

I kind of like the band-mult system that we use in the NCCC Sprints because
it makes one push extra  hard on 80 m at the end of the contesst.  We
adopted the policy because in the half-hour format few stations ever made it
to 80 .   now its an important strategy decision. For the left coast, the
rate of score increase really slowed on 80 with the scarcity of 7-land
mults, including absence of VE6 etc.

Some have tried to convince us to make the NCCC Sprint rules identical to
NAS. . but of course we won't do that, either wrt band mults or the
multiplier list .  we count both HI and DC, in addition to some Caribbean
countries that are considered NA by United Nations policies but not ARRL.
