Antenna: About  300 feet (continuous?) of aluminum rain gutters 
circling the  building up about 50 feet, tuned by MFJ 969 manual 
tuner and 135  ft counterpoise wire in the landscaping.

First time  ever, ever worked 160 meters. First time ever, ever I  
fell asleep at  the radio calling CQ--about 1am Sunday. Then 
went to bed.  Tuner and counterpoise brought the rain gutter  
SWR down to  1.2 to 1. Worked most  stations that I  heard,  
mostly close  in. Farthest out was  Colorado or Wyoming or Mexico.  
It was a hoot  just getting the "antenna system" to work! 
When the first station came back to my call, I declared it a  success!
