Comments:
Replaced my previous antenna, a g5rv with a Hustler 6BTV vertical that I had at
my elmer's house. The antenna played ok, still needs some tweaking and more
radials (only have about 16 currently). On 80m the antenna is too short, need a
different tip. 40m was the best band on that antenna.
I'm working hard towards a better setup, but i think i'm going to keep using
this vertical as a backup.
That guy ZF2AM always seems to find a second or 2 to say "hi", he must be a nice
guy ;-)
I did this entire contest with my naked fist (no keyer), and with my ears. I
was using pen/paper for those strange calls but being able to copy W6KY working
everything before I did sure helped me copy those calls.
Always fun.
