Comments:
SFI rising from 90 to 111 was offset by C-class flares and an A-index
fluctuating from 26 to 36. The sun-spots were at 30. The bands were terrible for most
of the contest, with Europe only workable for a couple of hours Saturday evening and Sunday
Morning around 2 hours. Same for 15M, which didn't offer much all weekend.
How bad were conditions, around 11:30 am Saturday, my QSO rate drop to 1 Q per 5 minutes.
I decided to go out have lunch and drop by Fry's for some needed software.
Worked a total of 88 countries in 30 zones..
Looking at the SFI and sun-spots Monday, the SFI had moved up to 120 and the sun-spots were
at 130.
Had fun despite what I believe were the worst conditions for a major contest
since that last relatively decent conditions in 2006.
Many thanks to Bill, N6MXU for the use of his station.
Rig: IC-7800, AL-1500 amp, SteppIr Monster at 90 feet.
