That's good news for 70cm SSB, as I just bought a 7-element Yagi for
that band.
But it's a bit dismaying about 222 MHz. I've been looking at one of
those transverter
kits sold by Elecraft to add that band to my station, but considering
the cost of
the transverter and an appropriate Yagi, I guess I'll stick with a
J-Pole and a 25w
FM rig.
I had heard that most of the activity on 222 MHz in the LA area was during
contests, but I never suspected that it was primarily on FM.
