There is a reference to me doing a followup  report which I never got the
round-to-it to do
but QST did a report in a recent 2012 issue and everything covered in that
article mirrored what I would have written up.

The main issue I was concerned with was spectral purity and the Honda was
much cleaner than the Yamaha.

If one already owns a Yamaha they should do their own noise testing to see
how much of the

noise seen on a spectrum analyzer actually gets into one's receiver and

filter it out accordingly with AC line filters and or Ferrite beads or
toroids.

As far as the Honda mod that allows one to  burn all the gas out of the
carb float bowl, no matter
what you do, the only way to 100% guarantee that ALL the gas is out of the
float bowl is
at least for the Honda, unscrew the small screw in the bottom of the float
bowl on the Honda

I have no idea if the Yamaha has a similar drain screw but may a Yamaha
owner will comment.
