Comments:

This became a see if I could beat last year's 1,050,000 point finish after
our
family camping trip plans were cancelled. The previous year's score was
broken
before taking a nice, long, break Saturday evening with the family.
Apparently
I missed out on a great over the pole opening at that point.

Friday night was hot. Saturday morning was open to EU on 20-10 after the
morning 80/40 JA runs. The EU opening Saturday morning was great. Sunday
stunk
and I was glad that I had put in a lot of time on Sat/Fri.

This was my first time operating with a broken antenna. Something is wrong
with
my C31XR's 15m feed line or balun and I didn't devote the time before hand
to
fix it. This was identified as a problem last weekend during the CQ WPX
RTTY. I
thought to use my XM240 as an alternate antenna. The ACOM 2000A control unit
measured 1KW forward and 100W reflected. It worked much better than I could
have expected and produced my best band numbers.

SCCC Thoughts: Craig's antennas at work are the pits... I can't get in
front of him during a pileup. Kurt needs a better 80m/160m setup, if I
can't work him there then he needs to invest lots of time and money on
someone else's foreign property. N6BV kept beating the snot out of me... I
kept wondering how the heck Bill was working me so bad as a SOLP entry...
then after the contest I remembered that N6RV isn't N6BV (the M/M call this
year at N6RO). Lastly N6QQ beat me enough times that I think he was guest
op-ing again... if he did all that from home then I might go to the recycle
yard with some extra aluminum.
