On a positive note new categories UL and ML were introduced last year. An
earlier effort to set the LP ("A") power limit to 100 failed, however. In
a competitive section, the 100/150 watt difference represents a few percent
of score and is significant. Given many if not most stns have 100 watt
transceivers the 150 watt level seems unfair. But then the CQP has an
"FT1000MP" power limit of 200w for the LP category.

One needs to lobby the CAC members. . . doing this with enough members
would force the issue to be considered. But the A in CAC can be a
problem. The CAC supported 100w but their proposal was vetoed by a higher
authority.
