I operated in the DMC (Digital Modes Club) RTTY contest this past weekend. It's not a big contest at all as DX contests go, but I still managed to work 58 countries in 19 hours of operating time. I enjoyed when Saudi Arabia heard my CQ and stopped for a chat, and kindly provided me with a number when asked (for my contest exchange!) - he wasn't operating in the contest.
I chose this contest as it ends 8AM local and I have a 3 hour drive to VT for my conference this afternoon... NAQP didn't end until Sunday at 2pm which would have been cutting it too close for my drive north!

Total: 507 Countries = 58 Call Areas = 24 Continents = 6 Total Score = 249,444 Club: CT RI Contest Group Comments: Interesting contest - my biggest runs were at 1AM local time on 20 Meters to EU. Early on had trouble getting traction - EU wasn't hearing me at all while later
it was easy. Had to deal with the NAQP contest going simultaneously and had lots from NAQP answering
my CQ so I made a macro with Dan CT Dan CT and an explanation that I needed a
serial number from them. If they sent me a number (most sent 001 or 002 but
others sent what was likely their current QSO count) I logged them, if they
didn't send a number I wiped them. Only 3 argued with me that the contest
didn't need a number (NAQP) even though my CQ was CQ DMC... Things finally calmed down by 2AM and got very slow - long drive in the morning
so I set the alarm to take a 1.5 hour nap. I ended up shutting off the alarm
and going back to sleep without waking up so ended up being closer to 3.5
hours Thanks to John W1AN who set me up on his second station while he operated the
VHF contest during the time I was in town before heading to VT for a conference! Posted using 3830 Score Submittal Forms at: http://www.3830scores.com/
