[SCCC] SCCC Digest, Vol 130, Issue 20

Rick-

1. Best skimmer in the west is WA7LNW Jack's skimmer, mile high in a radio
quiet part of Utah:

RUN
CMD
telnet 208.65.3.250 7300

2. For AS/OC spots on 40m during night hours, I have a skimmer with a
low-angle 40m gain array aimed 315T for spots from Asian coast (UA0, JA,
HL, VR) down into Indochina, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. It captures
ZL and VK also. This is aimed to maximize our west coast advantage to work
AS/OC stations at night when east coast contest stations generally cannot.

RUN
CMD
telnet n6ncskimmer.ath.cx 7300

3. For my modest station I don't waste time with the big east coast
skimmers (K3LR and W3LPL) because for modest west coast stations their spot
stream is like drinking from a fire hose, a waste of time parsing thru
them, and most of the spots are propagationally inappropriate for west
coast.

4. VE7CC's graphic interface is really great for filtering both
origination and destination sources of spots for your contest software.
