Subject: [NCCC] If you want to get spotted by the Reverse Beacon Network in
CQP ...
To: NCCC Reflector <nccc at contesting.com>

Please remember that CW Skimmer and the reverse beacon network
<http://www.reversebeacon.net> (RBN) only recognize "CQ" and "TEST" to
indicate that you are calling CQ. They do not recognize "CQP". So use:

CQ TEST callsign callsign
CQ callsign callsign

TEST callsign callsign

CQ callsign callsign TEST

and you should be spotted OK. Do not use "CQP CQP callsign callsign"
unless you are trying to avoid being spotted.

Also send everything at the same constant speed. Get rid of all "speed up"
and "slow down" symbols (>, <. ++, --) in ALL of your CW messages.

For more reading on this subject, see:

CW Skimmers, DX Clusters, and The Reverse Beacon Network

which I presented at Dayton Contest University earlier this year.

Bob, N6TV
