We also found 6m to be pretty poor except for some locals during our
10-grid-square rove. The microwave bands, however, worked well. We were
able to work N6NB, who was single-op portable up in Madera, through 24 GHz
from four grids and through 10 GHz from six grids.
Glad you guys got on!

Marty N6VI

How did you guys do, Drew?
I only have 6m here and not a competitive set up on the band at that. I
never heard a peep this past weekend, save for one local on JT65 mode.
Judging from the spots on DXMAPs, 6m was in very poor shape all weekend.

A number of us will put W6QAR on the air this Saturday for the VHF test.
We are planning to be on FM on 2m, 222, 440. (Possibly 6m and 1296, but not
planning on it.) Also planning to be on SSB/CW on 6m, 2, 432, and 1296.
We'll be on a rooftop in Sorrento Mesa in San Diego. Not a mountaintop, but
a reasonably clear shot in most directions.
We won't have a quorum of SCCC members, unfortunately, but we will work
everyone we can.
Best regards,
Drew
