Ladies and gentlemen,
Our vendor is now ready to accept orders for SCCC club badges. A sample is
posted on the order page. The badge comes with the classic red background
and yellow lettering, rounded corners and the classic safety pin attachment.
Optionally, you may order your badge with any of a number of attachment
options (alligator clip, magnet, or colored lanyard for example).
If you have a letter "I" in your call sign like I do, the vendor can make
the badge with or without a serified "I" (cross bars top and bottom). The
default is *with* the serified "I". Be sure to specify unserified if that
is what you prefer. Our legacy badges came without the cross bars.
The order page is located at http://www.thesignman.com/clubs/socalifcc.html
Jim AF6O has added a link to the SCCC web page as well.
On a separate note, if you happen to be an ARRL Life Member and would like
to order a replacement badge, you may do so at this vendor's web site. If
you hold an ARRL appointment, you may also order an official ARRL badge. The
vendor is authorized by ARRL to make these badges and will verify your
eligibility before making the badge.
The page for ordering these is at http://thesignman.com/badges/arrlcart.html
The vendor also offers many other products (not necessarily all for amateur
radio) at http://www.thesignman.com/ This is not an endorsement of this
vendor but I was very happy with the ARRL appointment badge and lanyard that
I ordered earlier. The standard disclaimer applies: "Your mileage may vary
and if you elect to order anything from this vendor, it is a personal
transaction between you and he. The Southern California Contest Club (SCCC)
and I are not affiliated with this vendor and are not a part of any
transactions."

The NAQP CW contest is this Saturday, August 6 at 1800 to 0600 August 7. If
you would like to join one of the five member SCCC teams, please let me
know. I will submit team registration on Saturday morning a couple of hours
before the contest.
Note: if you do join a team and get on to operate, please be sure to include
the team name in your log submission. I noticed that some of our RTTY team
members do not appear in the preliminary results.

Anyone running N1MM logger with the old Kenwood TS-50 small mobile rig in
CW mode?
I'd like to move up to N1MM (from N3FJP) with my portable TS-50 but am
having a hard time interfacing the two. I finally got the software to key
the radio with CW and the Function keys, but the band/freq/mode of the
radio doesn't yet translate to the software.
I have a USB/serial adapter for CW keying that is working, and a ZLP
Electronics TS50 CAT cable that plugs into the IF (I believe) of the radio.
Both work fine with the N3FJP software. I'd like to now use them with N1MM.
I just bought WinKey but haven't put it together yet. Before I do, I'd like
to use N1MM to key the radio and register the band/mode.
Thanks.

Bob,
Do you have the special IF-10D unit .....
I know I ordered one years ago to computer interface my TS-50 to a computer
but never got the round-to-it
I didn't see it mentioned in your mail
Sorry I don't know N1MM that well but maybe someone on reflector will have
some ideas.
