[SCCC] W6AQ's SteppIR available

I was just advised by K6YR that the family of SK Dave Bell W6AQ is planning
to dismantle his Hollywood Hills antenna system later this week.  The tower
is probably not reusable, but the antenna, a SteppIR DB-36 with 80m element
is just over a year old (Skip Bolnick and I installed it last summer), and
it will possibly end up as scrap unless someone wants to take it down
carefully and disassemble it properly.  I cannot speak for the family, but I
suspect they would accept any reasonable offer that included removal and
disassembly.  

 

If you have a home for a $5k+ high-performance antenna, can invest some
sweat equity, are (or can get) experienced climbers and can act quickly, you
can probably get a great deal.  One or two of us who are local bay be able
to help (Skip is not available).  You will need a block & tackle as well as
climbing gear; the antenna weights over 160 pounds.  If interested, contact
