[SCCC] Can we agree on some FT8 Freqs for 2 Meters and 440 ?

The September VHF contest is next weekend, and I would like to really try to make good use of the new mode FT8 (included in WSJT-x) during the contest.

Many of us capitalized on it during the CQ VHF contest on 6 meters, but I think we can use it to make some longer haul contacts on higher frequencies.


Note:  For those of you planning to use it for the contest, PLEASE upgrade to RC2.  This will fix a bug for rovers like me.


So, we need to agree on some frequencies.   There are no 2 meter nor 440 freqs in the pulldown menu in WSJT-x.    I have looked over the ARRL Band Plans,

and I have a "strawman" for 2 frequencies for FT8:

                                          2 Meters    144.174

                                          440              432.174


I intentionally avoided the beacons at 144.275 and up, that is why I did not pick .274.
