I am sad to pass along the news that Tom Russell N4KG (ex-W8FAW) passed 
away this afternoon.  I received word of this earlier today from K4AB 
and KR4F.

This news is of particular interest to me because Tom administered my 
Novice exam when I was an elementary school student in Huntsville, Ala.

I think it would be fair to describe Tom as an avid DXer who also 
operated contests.  My LotW account reflects 357 QSO with him.

RIP, Tom.
