Back to Imperial County this year. Beat our previous score there from 2015.
Of course, 20m was the money band. Had trouble with 40m inverted-vee
parasitic elements and had to use only driven element this time. A gain
antenna would probably have given us more Qs on 40m. First time using
KPA500. What a nice amplifier. Probably should have checked 15m more often
for openings. Called CQ 99% of the time. Not a problem bagging the Mults.
Had only RI left but got it early on Sunday. Nice working 14 countries,
mostly EU. Temperature cooled down to the high 80s with an annoying wind,
but 2 weeks before temps were at 107 F. All this at 30 feet below sea
level. (Maybe there should be a multiplier for every foot below sea level
you're at!?)
