[SCCC] RTTY Roundup break times

I got an offline question about this, but it's a common question so here
goes for everyone. If you've heard this before you can move along ;)

The intent of the "two break" rule is to add another element of strategy to
the contest. You need to decide based on your local propagation, need for
sleep, etc. the best way to schedule that off time. By limiting it to no
more than two blocks, that means you can't just take a bunch of short
breaks. You have to decide.

The right way to look at this is that only 24 hours** of the 30 hours count
towards your score. Between the time you make your first QSO and the time
you make your last QSO, you may take at most two off-times. Also, according
to the ARRL general contest rules, breaks must be 30 minutes or more.

The time before your first QSO and the time after your last QSO don't count
as these two off-times. All of the following examples are within the rules:

- start at 1800 Sat and work 24 hours straight

- start an hour late at 1900, take 2 two hour breaks, end one hour early

- start at 1800, work 12 hours, sleep 5.5 hours, finish a half hour early.

** The log checking will count your first 24 hours of operating. It will
ignore everything after 24 hours. So you CAN continue without penalty if
you are having fun and the Qs you give will count for the other operators.
In fact some people will go some minutes past 24 hours "just in case" they
got their breaks wrong somehow.

Hope this helps - 73 jeff wk6i
