Well, I'm going to correct myself. The rules state:

Class D stations may only count contacts made with Class A, B, C, E and F Field Day stations.

Hi Steve,

I don't see where in the FD rules that it specifies that QSOs with D-class stations don't count for QSO points. QSO scoring is based solely on mode.

Operated from home and commercial power this time. It was interesting 
to note how many home stations claimed to be operating on emergency 
power and thus class E. I never heard Nebraska or Alaska, and also 
missed Puerto Rico plus 4 or 5 Canadian sections. I wonder just how 
many stations there really were in GTA?? With my 49' sloping wire 
hanging from a pine tree, 20 proved to be very spotty and erratic Sat 
afternoon, like 10 used to be while using a yagi on that band on the 
east coast. 40 worked very nicely, especially after the t-storm 
crashes died out early Sunday morn. 80 was so-so but it was fairly 
easy to work the east coast, which was a real surprise using this 
wire. The last time I was on 80 using this antler was the ARRL DX CW 
test and it was very tough going even into the Caribbean and South 
America, so much so that I gave up 80 and concentrated on just 40 
again. It wasn't until late Saturday night that I realized I could 
easily hold run frequencies on either 40 or 80, and started running 
in earnest. Then Sunday morning, I found I could do the same on the 
higher bands, too. I had no idea this wire would work so well on 
domestic contacts with just 100 watts.

This score (CW only, BTW, thus the total multiplier of 4) is as N1MM 
counted it, which I think accounted for the numerous zero-point class 
D stations (possibly as many as 50) and the several dupes. The ARRL's 
FD web site, OTOH, doesn't look at the submitted Cabrillo log in any 
detail and thus counts the zero-pointers and dupes as valid QSOs. 
Thus, it automagically claims a higher score than N1MM does. Although 
this was a partial-effort, my main intention here was to see whether 
I could outscore my local club using just CW. I'm pretty sure I 
didn't, but came close (it probably depends upon just how good their 
FT8 operator was, and how long they allowed their CW operator to 
operate, which I don't think was as long as last year).
