I?m planning a expedition style participation in the 7QP this weekend using my Jeep from a remote highpoint in Mineral County, Nevada (NVMIN) high desert.
I have a couple of wire antennas on 41? masts that hopefully will enable SSB only operation on 160-10m and I will run 100w KX3/KXPA100 station entirely off of batteries for the planned 18 hour solo operation.
I will use K7E in the contest.
If you get a few moments spare on Saturday would love to get your call sign in my log!

If you read between the lines a bit, you'll see that he has specified an 18-hour operation during an 18-hour event.? :)

Per a couple of email responses, here is additional information;
Operating Frequencies; The 7QP organizers suggest using the following frequencies and I will either use them or an open slot within the general vicinity.
1845, 3855, 7180, 14255, 21355 and 28455 on SSB;
Operating hours; I plan on operating the full duration of the 7QP from 6am PST through to midnight PST Saturday.
Band plan; The contest starts at sunrise and finishes 4 hours after sunset. Times below are PST.
6am - 7am: 80m primary and 40m secondary
7am - 9am: 40m primary
9am-5pm: 20m primary and 15/10m secondary
5pm - 8pm: 40m primary and 20m secondary
8pm-10pm: 40m primary and 80m/160 secondary
10pm - midnight: 80m primary and 160 secondary
Maybe early morning and late afternoon/evening/night areviable from Mineral County (I?m operating due east of Mono Lake) so roughly 350 miles to LA area.
I?m open to suggestions on bands and times into SoCal particularly as many of you have a deep understanding of propagation in and out of California.
Exchange; I send 59 NVMIN (Nevada Mineral) and typically receive from a Cal station something like 59 CA.

Here?s to lots of QSOs!!

I suggest using the following direct link to the rules since it contains the navigation to the other 7QP web pages that may be of interest:
