	 Club: Southern California Contest Club  

	Antennas: AV-640 vertical for 40 and 15 meters. Dipoles for 160, 80,
and 20 meters at 35 feet. Rig: Icom 7410 Alpha 91b 

	With the success of my recent 160 operation with a 20 foot high
dipole I decided to improve the antenna for this contest by adding 80
meters and 20 meters to the 160 dipole and raise it to 50 feet. Due to
mechanical and installation malfunctions I was only able to improve
the height to 35 feet. However adding the 20 meter dipole was a huge
improvement over my AV-640 vertical. The difference in the receiver
noise level between the dipole and the vertical allowed me to easily
double my 20 meter score as I could hear and work many stations that
were not copiable with the vertical.
