Comments:
Though this weekend was not the best conditions ever witnessed, it is my
best score ever. It sure is nice to have all the bands open. In fact they
were open just enough to decide which one to be on. As things improve that
decision makes or breaks the contest. Usually all the lower bands are
abandoned for 10 meters and it is full of stations from 28.0 to 28.35 MHz.
I used to go the full 48 with a few short naps. The only deleterious effect
is that strange buzzing in my head that lasted a few days. Nowadays, like
clockwork, I turn into a zombie at least twice during the contest. It isn't
that I have to sleep. If I do not sleep I am transported to a completely
different dimension of sight and sound and strange signals bouncing off the
walls. Fortunately after 2 to 3 hours of rest the effect goes away and I
feel like my usual terrible self. Still, after the first day my fist gets
worse (as if it was ever any good). My hand just does not respond to my
brain.
Next Year!!!
