Subject: [SCCC] Plans for ARRL January VHF Contest this weekend?

Its that time already! The first VHF contest of the year, and this one is
going to be big because of the pandemic, as the other 2 last year were!
Bruce KG6IYN, Roger K6LMN and I all broke division records in September VHF,
and we are hoping to do it again this time.

With everything in flux right now due to COVID, and possibly political
unrest, my roving plans aren't 100% sure.
I hope to do the local 4 grids on Saturday - DM03, DM04, DM13 and DM14 in
that order. Get a nights rest at
home and then either go to Arizona and grid circle around the convergence in
Maricopa, OR go up over the
Grapevine and go to the Jack in the Box for DM04, and go further north up
the i-5 to Kettleman City for that
convergence point.

There should be at least 3 rovers in our area with N7OW/R coming in from
Arizona, and our new local star - Mike KX6A/R.
Haven't touched base yet with Tony K4XSS to see if he will be putting DM02
on from San Clemente Is.

If I remember, I will turn APRS on. I think I am N6GP-5 now. See me on
APRS.fi

Should be great weather this weekend too. Would be great if you all could
check the bands sporadically througout the day..
NFL Playoff halftimes are a perfect time to get on the air.

Hope to hear you on. What is everyone else doing?

73,
Tim N6GP
