Comments:

First time I've operated in the SOAB category in this contest since 1999. After
fixing the control cable to the SteppIR that a critter had chomped on and fixing
a wiring problem that prevented use of the 80m option, I finally had working
antennas for 80m-10m for the first time in a long time.

Operated 11.5 hrs of the first 24 hours of the contest. Conditions on 20m to
Europe Saturday morning were significantly worse than for ARRL DX CW - don't
know if they improved on Sunday. Spent much of Saturday afternoon filling my
band maps on 20m and 15m with dupes. Have to admit that's it been so long since
I operated bands below 20m in a DX contest, that I'd forgotten who to try to
work when. Stopped at 0500Z (Friday local), so missed opportunity for more 80m
QSOs.
