[SCCC] Operating on a County Line - LOTW

Jim, the difference is that in TQSL, one can enter multiple grids in the
station location. Not true though in the county field. The county field is a
drop down box and only one can be selected at a time.

Not to muddy the waters here, but LOTW handles multiple grid squares in one
QSO just fine - up to 4 grid squares if one happens to be at a confluence.
Seems to me, conceptually, that county lines should be just like grid square
lines? Just askin'.

I can perhaps add a small bit of data to this discussion.

While you can't upload two QSOs that perfectly match (and maybe even that
have slight time differences) - you can upload two QSOs that match except
for your own callsign.

I upload duplicate QSO entries all the time - one with N6TR and one with
N6TR/7. That way - regardless of how I am logged - the QSO will match one
or the other. Then you can combine them for awards.

This probably doesn't open the door to any easy solution for the county line
problem - unless everyone decides to adopt some kind of definition of what
you can put after the / sign to identify your county. However, even with
that - it would be a pain getting callsign certificates for each county and
dealing with all of the individual uploads.

I know the ARRL keeps thinking about a major LOTW upgrade - and certainly
tackling this problem would be a worthy feature to include in that.

73 Tree N6TR and N6TR/7 (but not K7RAT/7)
