Sorry for the delay in posting this. Thank you SCCC for getting on the air and making the bands active!
I appreciate each and every QSO. I forgot to mention in my other writeup that this may have been a
personal best for the June VHF for me. Thanks again! -Tim

Comments:

I had 2 things working against me this contest. 1. I had been sick early in the
week, and had to take things slow. 2. I had a conflict Sunday afternoon and
had to QRT at noon Sunday.

Started the contest out at Signal Hill for DM03. Had a nice short skip opening
to Arizona, and had a good 60 QSO first hour. Lengthened out to Texas and Rocky
Mtn states. Stayed about 2.5 hours there.

Went over to Schurr High School in Montebello for DM04. Had a couple small
openings on 6m but not much. Levi K6JO/R arrived and I got to see his
impressive rover in action. Rumor has it that he might have set a SWD Limited
Rover record. Congrats Levi! Also got to see LA Sheriff practice with their
Belgian Mal K9, My Mals aspire to do that. Stayed about 5 hours!

Went home and ate some dinner. Got word that Hawaii was on. Rushed and set up
on my driveway and worked KH6HI. This may have been my first KH6 in a VHF
contest!

Got a good start in the morning before 8AM. Did not check the road traffic
condix. ARGH! There was a wreck on the 57 freeway with about a 20 minute
delay. Got on the air at the Diamond Bar Center for DM13 about 9AM. There was
a fantastic opening on 6 to all over the South from Texas to Florida. Lots of
stations on CW, and I captured a lot of mults that way. Lots of SSB too. The
rule change by the ARRL for the Analog Only Single Fixed was fantastic! It
really brought the SSB and CW to life! This was probably the best 6m opening I
have seen since 2014, So much fun!

Had a couple of Murphy strikes. Early on KI6X said my transmission was 1.5
seconds off on FT8. It was strange. I have a GPS. I was receiving stations
all at the correct time. Turns out my software had a long delay in keying up my
radio. I restarted my software, and that fixed it. Also had a problem where
dupes weren't being highlighted red in WSJT.

Improvement for next time might be bringing out my TS590SG with its excellent
receiver on 6m.
