I had fun QRP on Flint Peak Saturday, then Coldwater Canyon park/Tree People above Studio City on Sunday.
Either my funky 4 el wire yagi was working or conditions were exceptional. I could frequently hear both sides of a QSO clearly
while one or both participants needed fills.

Is 5 kHz the new bandwidth normal? There are some really crappy phone signals out there.
