[SCCC] Solar Panel RFI

John.
I put in a 20.6KW system in 2015. The solar vendors all tried to sell me cheaper smaller systems but being an engineer I like to over design things. Really happy I did. Using all that power now. Charges my Tesla for free. Heats the house. Runs the pool which is separately Solar heated.
By the way an electric induction cooktop is TWICE as fast as gas and a real pleasure to use with no smell or mess like gas.
You had better hurry as Taxifornia is about to screw everyone’s net metering deals who is not installed by April

Hi, John.
Avoid Solar Edge inverter and the "optimizers" they put on each panel. They
are a huge noise source, according to many who9 have tried them or live near
them. I recommend Enphase micro-inverters. They're efficient and RF-quiet
(as I can attest from my own installation). The PV panels themselves,
regardless of manufacturer, are generally not a source of RF noise.
As for "all-electric", I would not go that route myself. Electric cooktops
are a PITA when compared with gas, and electric heating may be even more
costly than gas (unless you're using a heat pump system). Check the energy
efficiency rating of any electric furnace you're considering, then remember
that you'll be using it most in the winter when there's less sunlight
hitting your PV panels.
For reference, I have 8.5 kW on the roof. It meets most of our demand in
the summer and adjacent months, but it falls considerably short in the
winter.
A reputable installer can look at your historical and proposed power usage
and help you evaluate how much solar you need and how it will affect your
utility bill.

I am thinking about putting up Solar Panels and replacing
My old gas air conditioner with an HVAC system.
Would like your suggestions about the RFI problem and going to
All electric.
Just got a $358 gas heating bill for January.
