Hi Ken,

I did call you several times on CW but you did not hear me. I am down
in DM12 and no one points their antennas this way.

I heard no one else but I dont tune above 50.100.

Terry/N6CW

 Comments:

First time ever on 6 meters. N6GP's email alerted me to the contest
(thanks, Tim). I drove over to W6RFU at UCSB as quickly as I could.
There we have a 6m yagi on a tower on the roof of the five story
engineering building. I thought there was no propagation until I
suddenly heard Tim's voice come blasting through the speaker way above
the static. K0XP (Steve) didn't seem to be having much luck on CW (per
our SCCC email QSO's) so I worked on trying to figure out how to use
the paddle with the Elecraft K3 at the station. I've not sent CW in
several years and never on anything but my 40 year-old straight key
from Radio Shack so it was like getting out of a VW and into a Ferrari
with no training, but I managed to figure out how to work the paddle
and set the K3 to 8WMP (lowest it can do, apparently) and CQ'd.
Unfortunately, K0XP said I was in the noise and no one else came back
on CW. It was a good learning experience.
