[SCCC] Ken Beals SK

Hi, all.

I'm just back from Thailand as part of the E2A CQWW CW team, where I could
receive but not respond to e-mails.

I am saddened to hear of Ken's passing.  He had been not only a source of
antenna knowledge to many of us, but he also gave me the confidence to start
working on my own car (a '62 Corvair whose performance paled in comparison
to that of his souped-up Monza).  Once Ken convinced me that having a few
sheet metal screws left over was not the end of the world, I started digging
in to my vehicles.  Thanks, Ken!

Like some of you, I was fortunate enough to see Ken at Visalia several years
ago.   Other WVARC members who have made occasional guest appearances there
include Bruce Bishop K6OY (ex-WB6HGU), Ed Principe WA6QDQ and Neal Sulmeyer
K4EA (ex-AE6E).  I plan to attend again next April and hope to see other
WVARC members there.
