Subject: [SCCC] CQWW CW Brag from ND7K
I had an opportunity of a lifetime last weekend. Tim N6WIN who I have know for almost 20 years offered his ND7K station in Arizona for me to do a single op contest. I have never operated single op from a super station in the 70 years I have been a ham. I jumped at the opportunity.
I drove down 480 miles from Lone Pine to Wickenburg on Thursday. Tim briefed me on the station on Friday. His array of antenna choices is amazing and I tried to absorb all the info. The station is set up for a M/S or M/2. I elected to use one radio as the ergonomics of two radios was a little more than I wanted to try. In the end i spent 44.5 hours BIC because I didn't want to miss anything I made 3062 contacts and a score of 5.5 meg points. Even though it is out of SCCC territory I had to brag about it. It was something I have never done before and may never do again. Even my sojourns to VP9 for 20 years didn't match the fun of this adventure. Details are on the 3830 report. 73, Kurt W6PH
