Comments:
I am really surprised that the SSB/CW holiday weekend beat the number of entries for the Digital weekend.
Fairly good openings this day up north. Got a late start, and decided to set
upon my driveway, rather than Summit House. Learned a big lesson from NA6MG/R, as I saw him working meteor scatter early in the morning. The early bird gets the worm in this contest!
Next year I might not rove for either of these contests. It has truly become
the "6 Meter Contest", as one of my friends calls it. Without the local
mults available to work on 2m from each stop, its not worth it. Plus, with the ARRL June VHF and Field Day weekends thrown it, it makes for 4 portable contests in 6 weeks. Its just exhausting.
My new location on Tegner Dr. in Monterey Park worked out well. No visits from the police this time! Someone in the community stopped by in their car and asked "what are you selling?".
Tnx for the Q's & 73,
Tim N6GP/R
