Comments:

Operated with mostly same remote setup at WA6TQT as last year and this year
I did not have any equipment failures, (last year I had failed amp half-way
through the contest). Only issue was that few times I had doubt about
azimuth of our 10/15 m stacks on rotating tower as rotator azimuth reading
was unstable and jumping around too much and I was not at the site to walk
outside and see it. But I did not need to turn that tower too much as there
is also tribander with triplexer available to do quick direction change when
needed. I probably turned the big 10/15 m tower less than 10 times during
whole weekend. But we definitely have some problem to fix with that 10/15 m
system. Conditions were definitely down from last year but still managed to
make bit higher score by 300k which should be new California record
replacing record I made last year.
There is total about 100 more Qs this year but also 300 more Qs to US, about
100 less JAs and 50 less EU than last year. Bright spot was multipliers and
I worked about 100 more this year vs last year, perhaps some of that is due
to
increased US Qs in the log. I used 2nd radio a lot to work all multiplier
spots I could and doubled the amount of my S&P Qs from last year. Activity
felt also bit down this year, perhaps as WRTC qualifications are over now.
Tnx to John WA6TQT for use of remote station and thanks for the Qs again, 73
de Marko N5ZO
