B. SoCal Microwave SPRINT results:

Although there was not too much activity, 5 stations submitted their scores to 3830.

Of note, 3 stations associated with the Ventura County Amateur Radio Society posted their scores. 1 QSO , between WA6WDY & N7WLC, over a distance of 27km, on 902 mhz FM Simplex was achieved with Alinco handhelds with rubber duckies! WDY was on Stunt Rd in the Santa Monica’s Mts & WLC was at home in Thousand Oaks.

N6ZE, also on Stunt Rd,  worked N6UTC & WA6EJO on both 902 MHz & 1294mhz at distances of about 60km using handhelds with small yagis.

Microwave bands have small equipment available with small yagis and bounces/reflections off hills work great to achieve longer QSO distances. Try it, you might like it!

C. See you on 6 meters on Saturday afternoon:evening!
