G4RCG de GM4SID.
Hi John,
I know its too late now but NEVER DELETE A .ALL FILE. Always save it to =
a floppy. you never know when you might need it again.

I found exactly the same problem as you. When I wanted to scroll up the =
file it stopped on a non-Canadian QSO and the software locked up right =
there. So like you, I never scrolled up again. =20

Now your problem. =20
1... Copy your RAC.ALL to a floppy and put it away for now. =20

2... run RAC in SD and take a note of the score panel for future =
reference to check later that your changes have worked.

3... End SD=20

4... in DOS, open the RAC.ALL file using EDIT.
      ( C:\SD>edit rac.all)
Now be very very careful. Press the 'Insert' key so that you are in =
OVERWRITE mode.
go down the file and carefully change whatever it is you want to change. =
 =20

5... When you have finished, bring the cursor to the END of the last =
line in the log. (Not the beginning of the first blank line)

6... Alt F1 S to save the file.

7... run RAC in SD again and check the score panel. =20

If you have made a mess of it, remember - you saved the file on the =
floppy.

(NB: If nothing happens at C:\>edit rac.all. It is probably because =
you don't have a path to where EDIT.COM resides. It resides in your DOS =
directory - lets say its called C:\DOS. Change directory to C:\DOS. =
then "c:\dos EDIT C:\SD\RAC.ALL")

  Subject: [SD-User] RAC Contest Problem

  Hi All
Did the RAC test yesterday and I have a problem with SD V9.83, it wont =
let me go back into the previous qso's if I wanted, I started off the =
test and it happened staight away, I wanted to edit a call that I had =
put in and as soon as I went past a canadian stn with a province, say ON =
the next non candadian stn be it EU or US then SD would not let it go =
past without a State being put in no matter which key I pressed until I =
put in a canadian province then it just stuck there bleeping with evey =
key I used. So I thought might have been somthing I did in setting it up =
b4 starting so I came off the air manually wrote down the 20 or so qso's =
that I had done, deleted the RAC.ALL file and then re-started the prog =
(always in Dos BTW) and made a new test called RAC. I put back in the =
calls I had then went live agn, now seeing that I did not want to find =
SD doing this again I made sure that every call was 100% b4 entering. I =
made over 710 qso's CW & SSB and at the end of the test tried to go into =
the log and the same thing happend it wanted a state for a non VE stn.
The strange thing is as I played abt with it after the test it only =
does that ONCE u go past a VE stn with a province code eg ON or NB or =
any of the other valid ones, and then every non VE stn has to have a =
province code????

The problem is the is a couple of calls I want to check and I cant get =
back in from the logging prog, I can thru SDcheck but not SD which I =
need to as it may alter the score

Happy New Year to u and urs

  John G4RCG
