V9.87 21 April 2002

SDR - Rescores Contest Logs.
    SDR is a new program derived from SD. It independently
    scores Cabrillo contest logs, rescores RSGB and SD
    logs, and lists any errors found.

    For registered SD users, SDR creates an additional
    corrected file, in SD's .ALL format, but with a
    .NEW extension, and appends error descriptions to
    the relevant QSO records. The .NEW file may then
    be renamed to .ALL to benefit from the editing,
    analysis and export options in SD and SDCHECK.

    SD and SDCHECK have been updated to read .ALL
    files with appended error descriptions.

    For unregistered users, SDR gives a summary of
    QSOs, multipliers and points. When it identifies
    a QSO with one or more errors, it writes Date,
    Time, Callsign and error descriptions to the .NEW
    file - as an aid to manual correction of the log.
    To benefit from SDR, it helps to be familiar with
    setting up SD for corresponding contests.

    SDR will rescore logs for any contests currently
    supported by SD, with the exception of those with
    no multipliers - SD Type 11 and 12. SDR tries to
    identify all errors in each QSO. In some cases,
    a second pass will be required, once the initial
    errors have been corrected.

    SDR checks for:
       Invalid callsign.
     * Points error.
     * Unmarked Dupe.
     * Dupe marked in error.
       Unknown Area Code.
       Area Code missing.
       Area Code differs.
     * Area Multiplier claimed in error.
     * Unmarked Area Multiplier.
     * Country Multiplier claimed in error.
     * Unmarked Country Multiplier.
       Serial out of sequence.

    The errors marked with * have no relevance for
    Cabrillo logs. SDR simply detects dupes and
    multipliers, and tracks QSO, dupe, multiplier
    and points totals. For registered users, SDR
    adds the appropriate dupe and multiplier markers
    to the .NEW file.

    Please experiment with SDR and let me know if
    it's not behaving as you think it should. Note
    that, in CQWW and IARU HF, SDR does not flag
    incorrect Zones. I haven't found a way of doing
    this reliably and consistently with the limited
    data in the .CTY files. Any suggestions?

    Contest Organisers: If you're thinking of moving
    to Cabrillo, SDR (and SD) may help with your log
    checking. Please try SDR, and let me know what
    changes you require.

SD - WAE Contest - new rules for 2002.
    WAE.CTY is supplied - to support separate mults
    for each call area in W, VE, VK, ZL, ZS, JA, PY,
    and Asiatic Russia.

    Scoring Change. Each multiplier on 14/21/28 MHz
    counts twice, three times on 7 MHz, and four
    times on 3.5 MHz. SD shows your correct score at
    all times when used with WAE.CTY. SDCHECK has
    been updated to correspond.

SDJ - Jubilee Contest.
    Scoring updated - QSOs between Non-Commonwealth
    stations score 0 points.

SD - Type 3.
    For YU and LZ contests, the Zone field is limited
    to 2 numeric characters.

    For the IARU Contest, the Zone field is limited
    to 2 numeric characters, or 4 characters for IARU
    Society initials. Previously, SD crashed if 3 or
    more numeric characters were entered.

Oklahoma QSO Party (OKQP)
    OKLAHOMA.MLT supplied - for use in SD Type 10 for
    entrants outside Oklahoma.
