The Commonwealth Contest takes place from 1000 UTC on
Saturday 11th March to 0959 UTC on Sunday 12th March.
This is a CW-only event for Commonwealth entrants only.
Rules at http://www.contesting.co.uk/hfcc/rules/rberu.shtml
SDC (SD for the Commonwealth Contest) is a dedicated
contest logger for this event - this is its only option.
SDC V12.14 runs on any Windows PC and is free from
www.ei5di.com/sd/sdcsetup.exe. Just click on this
link and select the "Run" option to install SDC.
Here are a few relevant features - some are new in V12.14.
Enter Sends Message (ESM) is supported in RUN and S&P modes.
Apostrophe (') toggles ESM at any time.
Grave Accent (underneath the Esc key) toggles RUN/S&P
modes at any time when ESM is enabled.
With ESM enabled, the mode (RUN or S&P) is shown under
the callsign field, together with an indication of what
CW message (if any) the next Enter will send.
The START command (applicable to RUN mode only) lets
you choose which callsign character will start sending
the full exchange - with support for callsign type-ahead.
This way, you can send the relevant messages and log
most QSOs with a single Enter. Set START=0 to disable
this feature.
As you type callsign prefixes, SDC instantly identifies
the bonus status (B appears above the callsign) and
gives a band/bonus analysis below the callsign. If
the band description (10, 15 etc) is yellow, it's
needed for a bonus. White means no more bonuses on
that band.
When a station has been logged previously, the relevant
band(s) appear as black.
If the callsign/prefix is non-Commonwealth, it changes
colour to red (when 3 or more characters present).
When you work HQ stations, the serial and "HQ" may be
entered as a single entity in the serial field, for
example 21HQ will be logged as 021 HQ in their
respective fields.
After the contest, use SDCHECK to prepare your Cabrillo
.LOG file. Rename it as appropriate and email it to
commonwealth.contest at rsgbhfcc.org
If you should find any bugs in SDC, let me know and I'll
work on them right away.

Paul EI5DI
