It's easy, however I'd recommend WinKey rather than
keying direct from SD - that's because Windows tends
to give uneven character spacing. 

I use WinKeyer USB (WKUSB) from www.k1el.com.  It's
fed from any USB port and uses a standard Windows XP
driver - so no additional applications have to run.
Most other external keyers need a custom driver.

Use SD's PORTS command to define WinKey's "virtual"
serial port.  You'll know which port to choose, once
WinKey is attached, by selecting Window's Start - 
Settings - Control Panel -  System - Hardware -
Device Manager - Ports (COM & LPT).

The advantage of WinKey is that it integrates with SD,
and with many other loggers, but lets you interrupt
SD's messages by touching a paddle and continuing
manually.  If you're not proficient with the paddles,
you can instantly switch SD to keyboard mode using
Ctrl (on its own).
