I used SDI for this weekend's IOTA contest on my mini-dxpedition to NA-065, and I loved the software (my first time using it). I want to send the Cabrillo log to the RSGB, but cannot seem to find the log file that was, supposedly, generated when I completed item number 1 on the SDICHECK menu. I was able to print a "text" log (found when I right-clicked the SDICHECK icon and chose the "file location"). This log had all the info that I had added (island name, rig, antenna, etc.) when I was attempting to create the Cabrillo log. I didn't think the RSGB wanted the extra commentary sent with the log entry. I understand that photos and comments are supposed to be sent separately so something must be wrong with my configuration. I can only find the following files: IOTA09.ALL IOTA09.AUD IOTA09.DUP IOTA09 (a text document) IOTA09.PRT IOTA09.SRL I cannot find IOTA09.LOG which, according to the program, I am supposed to rename KD7H/7.LOG . I am running Vista Home on a Dell D830. What do I need to do in order to generate the Cabrillo log? Please forgive this "newbie" question. Here's something from the manual that may help. It probably explains why you found IOTA09 - a "text document" with no visible extension. Hint: When you use Windows Explorer to see the files in your SD folder (or any other folder), it?s useful to have all file extensions visible. Select Tools, Folder Options, View tab, and ensure that ?Hide file extensions for known file types? is not checked. Finally, select ?Apply to All Folders?, and click the OK button. Once you find IOTA09.LOG, rename it as KD7H.LOG and submit this as your entry - it's not possible to use the slash character in a Windows file name - it indicates a "path" name. The correct callsign will be present in your .LOG file. 73, Paul EI5DI From richyrude at aol.com Wed Jul 29 10:22:11 2009 From: richyrude at aol.com (richyrude) Date: Wed, 29 Jul 2009 18:22:11 +0100 Subject: [SD-User] (no subject) In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <00f901ca1071$1c9b7760$55d26620$@com> As a new user with some old laptops for contesting I was wondering if anyone still has the old DOS versions of SDV/SDX or any of the rest of the SD family in dos or point me in the direction of the download Thanks in advance Richy m0rky From fdavis at nfld.net Fri Jul 31 15:55:22 2009 From: fdavis at nfld.net (RFD) Date: Fri, 31 Jul 2009 20:25:22 -0230 Subject: [SD-User] AUB and ALB files Message-ID: <126FAE8695BB4D08ABF050C7E3010A1A@DENPC> OK Paul Many tnx for the reply.
