The simple answer for me is to block verify at verify.transfer.ch within my own
spam filter so I don't get bothered with this crap.

Hope that this explains some concerns for people.

Ah, one of those dreaded challenge/response systems which some people like
to think is their way of avoiding spam. I personally detest them and unless
it is somebody I REALLY want to get an email to I refuse - and if I do
follow the verify link I add a sarcastic comment. It falls down totally in
the case of email lists like this with loads of subscribers. There are far
better ways of controlling your spam.

(and I got no such email after I posted to the list yesterday, maybe I have
already been banned... or if I am not then the person concerned hopefully
will read this and change his habit).
