[SD-User] IC-7600 keying

I just cannot figure out how to get the CW keying to work on my IC7600.
Rig control is OK via the USB port.
(the IC-7600 USB driver chose com8 after installation - info found in 
Device Manager)
There is no PTT but the screen shows that keying is taking place.
Assigning com8 as a shared port does not work as it accepts it as a CW 
port but deletes it as a control port.
Has anyone managed to control and key the rig  via the USB?

Any help will be appreciated
