In SD, Ctrl toggles Keyboard Mode.  If SD's
PTTON command has been used or is in effect
(it's permanent unless switched off with
PTTOFF), then SD asserts PTT for as long as
you remain in Keyboard Mode.  When you return
to Logging Mode, PTT drops.  The same thing
happens on message playback.

When the PTTOFF command is in effect, PTT
remains off while you're in Keyboard Mode.

The STATUS command tells you whether PTTON
is in effect.

I've just tested this with WinKey and K3,
and can confirm that it's all working as
described.
