The Worked All Europe DX Contest takes place from 00:00
UTC on Saturday 11th to 23:59 UTC on Sunday 12th August.
It is CW-only on the 5 contest bands from 10 - 80m, with
LP (100w) and HP sections for SO.
Rules at www.darc.de/referate/dx/contest/waedc/en/rules/
DX entrants (outside EU) will need V15.63 which
may be downloaded from www.ei5di.com/sd/sdsetup.exe
Earlier versions DO NOT track QTCs correctly - thanks
VK4TT. European entrants are not affected.
Select the "WAE" template
Mode - CW
Europeans work non-Europeans and vice-versa. SD displays
inappropriate callsigns or prefixes in red. If they're
not red, they're OK to work for points.
Your score shown, while logging, reflects the correct
weighting for multipliers on each band.
SD supports QTCs for both sides of this contest. To see
how it all works, try a WAE test file, log a few QSOs
and then enter the QTC command in the callsign field.
You have to log the Time, Callsign and Serial for each
QTC. The easiest way to do this is to type it all in
one field with no spaces - and Enter when you've
finished.
If you receive a QTC as 0905 9A1AA 015, type it as
09059A1AA15, followed by Enter. This is faster and
simpler than entering the fields separately, but you
can still do it that way if you prefer. At any time,
if you make a mistake, you can use the arrow keys and
Tab to make corrections.
If you're not familiar with logging QTCs, don't try to
do it for the first time on-air. It is harder than you
might think, especially when you have to edit something.
Please practice on test files before the contest.
You can log up to 10 QTCs from each DX station - but
they don't have to logged all at once. As you type
callsigns on the logging line, SD shows how many QTCs
you have left to log from (or send to) that station.
Each QSO and each QTC scores 1 point - so QTCs can
make a huge difference to your score.
Use SDCHECK to create your Cabrillo .LOG file - your QTC
records (if any) are included at the end of your QSO
records. Upload your log at http://www.waedc.de, or
email it to waecw at dxhf.darc.de.
Please mention SD in your Cabrillo soapbox comments.

Paul EI5DI
