SD's window may be adjusted in size to match the
dimensions (in pixels) of your display.
Many users don't know this, and simply use the
default installation window which is usually too
small.
You can change the window size by clicking on the
SD icon, at the top left of SD's window - then
select Properties, followed by Font, then select
the Lucida Console font option. Don't select any
other font options, as they may not display as
intended.
The final step is to experiment with values in
the Size field (for Lucida Console), so that SD's
window is as large as possible without being
truncated.
Just to complicate matters, there is one further
option to consider. Depending on your personal
preference, Check Partial and Super Check Partial
(SCP) callsigns will appear in place of the Score
window, or underneath the logging line (the
default when SD is first installed).
In terms of operating efficiency, underneath the
logging line is probably better - but it may be
at the expense of font size, and ease of
visibility in general on smaller screens. You
can control this with the EXPAND command to
toggle the location of the Check Partial display.
Please experiment, then make your own choice.
These days, most monitors and all laptops are
supplied in widescreen (16:9) format. If you're
using a small screen, say 13 inches or less,
visibility is generally better with the non-
EXPANDed option. Here are suggested font sizes
for Lucida Console corresponding to a couple of
common screen pixel dimensions.
Screen - 1366 x 768
Non-EXPANDed 26
EXPANDed 19
Screen 1920 x 1080
Non-EXPANDed 38
EXPANDed 28
Please try this, and let me know the corresponding
font sizes for other standard screen dimensions.
