The ARRL Sweepstakes takes place from 12:00 UTC Saturday
3rd November to 02:59 UTC Monday 5th November. It is CW-
only on the six contest bands from 10-160m.

Rules at http://www.arrl.org/sweepstakes

SD V16.05 supports this event - www.ei5di.com, and has
been updated with the three new Ontario sections.

SS is open to W/VE entrants (and territories & possessions)
only

    Select the "ARRL SS" template.

Enter your exchange, minus your own callsign and with
exchange elements separated by a space, on SD's opening
screen. This is used by SDCHECK to format your Cabrillo
QSOs.

Once again, do not include your callsign in this field.
It's not needed in Cabrillo. If Cabrillo QSOs show the
same exchange as you used on-air, your QSOs will be
rejected. There's a lesson there somewhere :-)

Use Shift-F2 (and Shift-F6) to define the exchange.
Of course, this should include your (redundant)
callsign. The F2 message is the exchange while
running, and starts with the callsign #C of the
station calling. The F6 message is the exchange
while in S&P, and does not include any other
callsign but your own. The F4 exchange message,
for dupes, should be the same as your F2 exchange
assuming you work dupes.

When logging received exchanges, there's no need to
leave spaces between exchange elements - it's faster
this way. Do not repeat the other station's
callsign in the exchange field - it's already in
the callsign field.

After the contest, use SDCHECK to create your Cabrillo
.LOG file, and send it to sscw at arrl dot org. Please
mention SD in your Cabrillo soapbox comments, as this
encourages others to try it.

73,
Paul EI5DI
