The RSGB CW Club Sprint takes this evening, Thursday 27th
September, from 2000 - 2100 UK Local Time (BST) on 80m,
3520-3570, with a slow-speed CW section around 3560.

There are QRP (10w) and LP (100w) sections. HP is not
permitted.

Rules at www.rsgbcc.org/hf/rules/2012/rsprint.shtml

SD V16.03 is fully working and unrestricted in this
event. You can get it from www.ei5di.com. If you
don't have a key file for SD, it will start in DEMO
mode. Don't worry, once you select the RSGB Sprint,
it will be unrestricted,

The Sprint has a specific QSO format, depending on
whether you are being called, or are the calling
station. If you use any QSO format other than the
recommended one, you will confuse potential callers
and may lose QSOs.

Please check the "Example CW QSOs" at
www.rsgbcc.org/hf/information/sprintQSO.shtml

When you have started SD, and entered a name for
the contest, you will see a table of all the
events supported. Use Page Down to get to the
second page, then

select SD's "RSGB 80m Sprint" template.

Enter Mode as CW, and your Name for the exchange.
Set the band to 80m if you're not using rig control,
with the 80M or B80 commands.

UK entrants work everyone. Others work UK only.
Exchange Serial + Name. No reports are exchanged.

It's easier to log the serial and name as a single
field in SD. For example, SD expands "4FRED" to
"004 FRED" when you press Enter.

Following any QSO where you called CQ or QRZ, you
must QSY at least 2 kHz before calling another
station or calling CQ.

If using SD's internal keyer, or an integrated
keyer such as WinKey, the appropriate exchanges
are hard-coded in the recommended format - you
can't change them.

Using ESM (Enter Sends Message) SD toggles between
"RUN" and "S&P" modes, and sends the proper exchange.

It's easier once you've had a bit of practice. Please
experiment with a test file in advance.

After the contest, upload your Cabrillo log, from
SDCHECK, to www.rsgbcc.org/cgi-bin/hfenter.pl

Any problems, please ask at sd-user at contesting.com

Paul EI5DI
