[SD-User] Cabrillo in DXpedition logger template

Paul,

thank you for the explications and the suggestions. My friend Sauro has SDCheck produce an ADIF file, and then he runs "ADIF to Cabrillo" to obtain the cabrillo version.

There is indeed no statutory use for cabrillo in a non contest situation, but a quickly produced text file is quite handy for many things.
Having found the "cabrillo" option in SDCheck I had thought that it would produce a full file as usual, hence my posting on the reflector for what looked like a minor oversight.

Ciao
Sandro, i7ALE

SDCHECK is working as intended, in that I'm
not aware of any specific use for the Cabrillo
format for general logging - since Cabrillo is
a contest logger format.

On the other hand, SDCHECK's ADIF format is
complete, because that's what's needed for
importing SD's QSOs to a general-purpose
logger - or for uploading to LOTW.

Note that SD's .ALL files closely approximate
the Cabrillo format - with the addition of
a few fields denoting points, mults and dupes.
Perhaps this you be used instead of Cabrillo -
with a little editing if required?

Another option is to add any appropriate MAP
parameters to the DXpedition Logger template
QDXPED.TPL - these parameters indicate the
position and length of each field to be
transferred from the .ALL file QSO records,
and the starting position of thats field in the
Cabrillo QSO record. Have a look at other
template files to see how they work.

Paul EI5DI
